The Expendables 2(2012)

A lot of action films this year. All of them have more or less the same thing. What makes The Expendables 2 special? The ensemble cast? The bloody fight scenes? Chuck Norris? All of the above!

After the events of the first film,  the team is hired by Mr. Church, ex CIA agent to receive an item from a gunned down airplane. The team hires a technical expert to crack the safe. When the team gets the item, bad guy Jean vilain capture a member of the expendables and demand the item. When the team gives it to them, Jean kills the member anyway. So the team swears revenge.

More of a plot than the first one, but the jokes fall flat, expect for the Chuck Norris joke. ( Told by Chuck Norris himself). Seeing all of my favourite action stars in one film is awesome, but they are really getting old.
3.5/5

Rated R for strong bloody violence throughout

The Amazing Spider-Man(2012)

The best spidey ever! ! Don't believe what others tell you, but this movie is fantastic. Even though I am a huge spider-man fan, it does not mean I like this movie just for the heck of being a fan(I hated Spider-Man 3). This movie is so going to be a box office success. Oh wait...

The film is about a young teenage Peter Parker, who is trying to find out more about his parents. He finds his father's notes and studies it. He is bitten by a spider(big surprise), and gets spider powers. While trying to control his powers, he works with his father's partner Dr. Connors on a way to regrow a person's limbs. Dr. Connors is missing an arm. Later on in the film, Uncle Ben is killed. (Not really a spoiler, everyone should know he was going to die) So, Peter hunts down the killer, and uses the codename Spider-Man, makes a costume, and is wanted by Police Captain Stacy, father of Peter's love interest Gwen Stacy.

When at risk of losing his job, Dr. Connor's tests the formula he and Peter worked on, but he turns into the lizard. So Peter tries to stop him. Well, this is a great movie, but the lizard would not be my first villain choice. And it is kind of obvious what will happen next, but watch out for Stan Lee's cameo. You will love it. And the fight scenes with lizard were weird.

4.8/5

Rated PG-13 for sequences of action and violence.

Note: Forgive me. I was a fool when I wrote it. UPDATED REVIEW: 3/5

The Dark Knight Rises(2012)

This movie will not disappoint you. It is maybe the greatest superhero movie ever.( Not a diss on Marvel) Now, some people are tired of superhero flicks because most of them have the same plot: Hero gets powers, saves the love interest, blah, blah, blah. But this film has a lot of twists that you will be at the edge of your seat with excitement.

The film takes place eight years after the Dent act. Most of Gotham's criminals have been locked up. The Batman is still blamed for the murder of dent, and Bruce Wayne has not been seen or heard from since. Bruce feels Batman is not needed anymore, but when a terrorist named Bane threatens the city, Batman must come back, though he is still wanted on the Police.

It might be too early to say this, but The Dark Knight Rises is the best film of 2012. The score by Hans Zimmer was perfect. Anne Hathaway as Catwoman was the perfect choice(Thank god Halle Berry didn't appear), though Bane has the same voice problem as Batman, it works out. The film has an ending that will not disappoint.
5/5

Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, some sensuality, and Language.

The Hunger Games(2012)

I bet you 10% of the people that went to see The Hunger Games did not read the book. Even so, pick up the book before you watch the movie, or you won't understand some important scenes( Like my Dad when he took me to see it). The Hunger Games is not a typical sci-fi flick. It is not all about technology, which gets my attention. It's a story about rebellion, love, politics, and adventure.

The film is about 16 year old Katniss Everdeen, who hunts illegally with childhood friend Gale to feed her family: Her mother, and her little sister, Prim. They live in District 12, the poorest district, which, along with the other 11 district, follows the rules of the Capitol. As punishment for rebelling against the Capitol, which resulted in a war, one boy and one girl, aged 12-18, from each of the districts, much participate in The Hunger Games, an annual televised event. The Hunger Games is really just a fight to the death. The hunger games end when one child is left standing.

The Children are chosen to participate by the reaping(lottery). When Prim is chosen, Katniss volunteers the take her place to protect her. The boy from district 12 chosen is Peeta Mellark, who Katniss owns her life to from her childhood. The winner of the games gets money and fame. But Katniss does not want that. She justs wants to go home. The movie is still not as impressive as the book itself, but still amazing, never the less.
Gary Ross shows us he can really direct movies, and Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss was the perfect choice.

5/5
Film rating: Rated PG-13 for intense violent thematic material and disturbing images-all involving teens.

Final Destination 3 (2006)

Warning: This film is rated R.

My first film review is on a movie that is future horror movie classic, and is in my opinion, the best in the final destination series. If you are looking to watch a film with frights, suspense, blood and gore, and good acting, this is the first for you, as well as the other films in the series.

The film is about high school student, Wendy Christensen (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead), who goes on a school field trip to an amusement park, and explores the park with boyfriend Jason(Jesse Moss), and friends Carrie(Gina Holden), and Kevin(Ryan Merriman). The group decides to go on the Devils Flight Roller Coaster, but Wendy has a vision that everyone on the ride will die due to the roller coaster failing and falling apart. When her vision begins to come true, she panics and gets off the ride, as well as Kevin, and classmates, Ashley, Ashlyn, Lewis, Ian, Erin, and Frankie. Moments later, the roller coaster sets off, and crashes, and kills everyone on board, including Jason and Carrie, upsetting Wendy. Later on in the film, Wendy learns about Flight 180(from the first film), and about the kid who had a vision like her about the plane he was on exploding, and it came true. At first, she does not believe it, but when some students that survive the roller coaster die, she and his friend Kevin discover that they, along with the other survivors, cheated death, and death is coming to get them.

This is the best film in the series because it does not really depend on the stories from the previous two, for it to be good. Unlike looking for clues, like the characters in the previous films did, they have photos to guess how they will die. I don't want to give out to much of the plot, but this film keeps you guessing. Watch it.
